This Privacy Policy explains how Scribetape ("Scribetape", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use scribetape.com(the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this policy.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose data if required by law.
We use a strictly-necessary cookie to keep you signed in, and one first-party cookie that remembers, for 90 days, which site referred your first visit and which page you landed on. It holds no personal data and exists only so we can tell which channels bring people who sign up. Our product analytics store a random identifier in your browser to count sessions; if you sign in, it is linked to your account for the same purpose. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
New file uploads are private by default. Transcripts made from public links, and recordings created before 3 October 2026, may be accessible to anyone with their recording link. Signed-in owners can disable sharing or create a new share link from the recording page. Shared transcripts are excluded from search indexing. Anyone with an enabled share link can read and export its transcript.
A necessary browser cookie proves ownership of an anonymous recording for up to 30 days. Sign in from the same browser to save a completed recording to your library. Clearing this cookie before signing in removes that proof.
You can delete individual completed or failed recordings from their recording page. This removes the transcript, translations and saved moments. Uploaded audio is temporary and is removed after processing; continuing a file preview requires uploading the original again. We keep your transcripts and account data until you delete them or close your account. You can delete your account yourself from your account page, at the bottom. It removes your transcripts, exports, API keys and billing details, and cancels any active subscription. If you cannot sign in, email support@scribetape.com and we will do it for you.
Depending on your location (e.g. EEA/UK GDPR, California CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise them, email support@scribetape.com.
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, though no method is 100% secure.
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
