This Privacy Policy explains how Scribetape ("Scribetape", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use scribetape.com(the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile identifier.
• Content you submit. The links you paste or audio files you upload, and the transcripts we generate from them.
• Usage & technical data. Your IP address (used for rate limiting and abuse prevention) and basic, anonymized analytics about page visits.
• Payment information. Handled entirely by Stripe. We do not see or store your card number; we keep only a Stripe customer/subscription identifier and your plan.

How we use it

• To provide the Service — transcribing your audio and storing your transcripts.
• To manage your account, credits, and billing.
• To prevent abuse, fraud, and keep the Service secure and reliable.
• To understand aggregate usage and improve the product.

Service providers

We share data with processors who run the Service on our behalf:

• Replicate — your audio is sent here to generate the transcript.
• Supabase — database and authentication.
• Vercel & Railway — hosting and processing.
• Stripe — payments. Google — sign-in.

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose data if required by law.

Cookies

We use a strictly-necessary cookie to keep you signed in. Our analytics are cookieless and anonymized. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Data retention

We keep your transcripts and account data until you delete them or close your account. Contact us to delete your account and associated data.

Your rights

Depending on your location (e.g. EEA/UK GDPR, California CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise them, email support@scribetape.com.

International transfers & security

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, though no method is 100% secure.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
